The 03 categories of hotels are designed and sought to meet the basic needs of the group, all the hotels considered have a private bathroom in each room, amenities according to their category and definitely always seek the best location so you can enjoy the city, find any kind of stablishments you may need as farmacies, money exchange offices, and many more (there are exceptions according to location).
The itineraries have activities with different physical demands, we will consider 5 levels of demand to be able to rank our activities and you can have in mind the requirement before confirming your place in the group. The COVID-19 pandemic change our lives and the way of traveling, that is why we want your trip to be incredible, safe and we are looking for not having massive groups and you can have a real experience, for tht reason, our groups will be confirmed with a minimum of 06 explorers reaching the maximum of a group of 10 explorers.

We also support growing local businesses so they can develop within the tourism industry, not only consume their products but also be trained by the members, specialists and guests of the foundation.

All the information in this trip details document has been carefully compiled and is provided in good faith to all of our explorers. However it is subject to change, and does not form part of the contract between the client and the tour operator. The itinerary featured is correct at time of printing. It may differ slightly to the one in the website. Occasionally our itineraries change as we make improvements that stem from past explorers, comments and our own research. Sometimes it can be a small change like adding an extra meal along the itinerary or change the route. Sometimes the change may result in us altering the tour for the coming year. Ultimately, our goal is to provide you with the most incredible experience. Please note that our group departures itimeraries are usually released in march each year.
VERY IMPORTANT: Please ensure that you print a final copy of your Trip Details to review a couple of days prior to travel, in case there have been changes that affect your plans.
While it is our intention to adhere to the route described on the group departure itinerary, there is a certain amount of flexibility built into the itinerary and on occasion it may be necessary, or desirable to make alterations. The itinerary is brief, as we never know exactly where our journey will take us. Due to our style of travel and the regions we visit, travel can be unpredictable we will have one step ahead to solve any kind of contingencies. The Trip Details document is a general guide to the tour and region and any mention of specific destinations or wildlife is by no means a guarantee that they will be visited or encountered. Aboard expedition trips visits to research stations depend on final permission.
Additionally, any travel times listed are approximations only and subject to vary due to local and weather circumstances.
Important Notes
The rules and regulations controlling the Inca Trail and Machu Picchu are continually changing by local authorities and the goverment. Before embarking on your adventure to Peru it is very important that you request for availability to our team, we highly recommend to check with us at least 3 months before your trip.
Please advise at time of booking if you do not wish to hike the Inca Trail. If you pay the entrance for the Inca Trail and days before the trek you wish not be part of it wont be any refund and we may have some difficulties to find a train ticket to go to Machu Picchu.
Once you let us know that you wont be part of the trailo, you will have 2 nights in Cusco, travel by train for a night in Aguas Calientes, and join the hikers for the tour of Machu Picchu.
During the rainy season , in february, portions of the Inca Trail will be closed for general maintenance,each year. Also, closures may occur at various times throughout the year due to inclement weather or other conditions beyond our control. During these periods, we recommend some other important and beautiful himes around Cusco, Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu itself.
Please Note: We do not accept any kind of discrimiation during the trip, any kind of this behavior of any traveller may cause the expulsion of the tour, we will consult to the rest of the travellers and the tour guide.
Please note that this group departure is a combination of multiple Teqse Travel tours. Although this is a group travel experience, please note that travellers will have different activity options within the itinerary which means that you may not be with the same group of people at all times. As such, the staff and/or particular vehicles operating your tour may also change between tour segments (i.e. while in Lima, during the Inca Trail, and while in the Amazon).
Our company and our fundation combine effort to support the rights of the porters on the trek but specially on the Inca Trail , we would like ensure that they never exceed the weight limit for their packs as set out by the Peruvian authorities. Porters are allowed to carry no more than 6kg of personal belongings per hiker (for all other Peru treks the limit is 8kg). That means that including your sleeping bag, toiletries, clothing, etc, you are allowed a total weight of 6kg for the hike which will be carried in a duffle bag provided by the Teqse Travel office. Any additional weight must then be carried by you in your day pack. To help achieve this goal we recommend that you carry travel sized toiletries, that you bring sport sandals that can be worn with socks (which are lighter than running/walking shoes) and that you limit electronics to those that you are willing to carry. Any additional baggage can be left in Cusco or in the Sacred Valley, but is advised that you bring anything of value (eg. money, passport, credit cards, camera, etc) with you on the trek.
If at the end of your trek you felt your trekking guide and support team did an outstanding job, tipping is appreciated. The amount is entirely a personal preference, however as a guideline, we suggest each hiker contributes the following to a collective pool. We suggest a tipping amount of $40 per person for the Inca Trail and $35 per person for the rest of the treks.
All Teqse Travel group departures are accompanied by one of our Tour Leaders or Tour Guides, a Teqse Travel representative, or an expedition team. The aim of the group leader is to take the hassle out of your travels and to help you have the best trip possible. They will provide information on the places you are travelling through, offer suggestions for things to do and see, recommend great local eating venues and introduce you to our local friends. While not being guides in the traditional sense you can expect them to have a broad general knowledge of the cities visited on the trip, including historical, cultural, religious and social aspects. We also use local guides where we think more specific knowledge will add to the enjoyment of the places we are visiting- we think it’s the best of both worlds.

On each itinerary we will indicate the meals included each day, some of tehm will be a box lunch, a picnic lunch set up, a restaurant or a local house service. Eating is a big part of traveling. Teqse Travel understands the importance of breakfast to start your day, we strive to include a good breakfast services on the hotels we choose, almost all the hotels we consider includes it. If breakfast is not included, your Tour Leader or Tour Guide can suggest some local options.
Travelling with Teqse Travel you experience the vast array of wonderful food that is available out in the Perú. Some days the meals are not included in the trip when there is a choice of eating options, to give you the maximum flexibility in deciding where, what and with whom to eat. It also gives you more budgeting flexibility, though generally food is cheap. Our groups tend to eat together to enable you to taste a larger variety of dishes and enjoy each other’s company. There is no obligation to do this though. Your Tour Leader or Tour Guide will be able to suggest favourite restaurants during your trip.
Each itinerary includes private van for the number of travellers on the tour, train tickets, bus tickets, yatch, horse back riding and hike, depending on the development of the trip
Local Flights
All local flights are included in the cost of your tour unless otherwise noted. It is important that we have your passport information at the time of booking in order to process these tickets. Internal flight tickets are issued locally and will be given to you prior to the flight departure if you request for it.
As a tour designers we believe single travellers should not have to pay more to travel so our group trips are designed for shared accommodation and do not involve a single supplement. Single travellers joining group trips are paired in twin or multi-share accommodation with someone of the same sex for the duration of the trip. Some of our Independent trips are designed differently and single travellers on these itineraries must pay the single trip price.
Teqse Travel will indicate on the itinerary the category of the hotel, the room and the information of each hotel considered on the tour, also if is considered a tend, home stay o any other place to sleep, will be detailed on the itinerary.
My Own Room Exceptions
If you want to be all alone please note that option for this tour, you will receive your own single accommodation for all night stops, you have to consider an extra cost for this.
About Accommodation
We consider all the hotels we visitied and stayed in, so we know all the services on each, you will enjoy the rooms.
In case you have a time change or lost flight and you can not inform to your Teqse Travel representative please remember this info, Jorge Chavez International Airport in Callao Lima, is approximately a 45-minute drive from the Miraflores district, where our joining hotel is located. Each hotel will be detailed on the itinerary, address, street name, numer, telephone number and web site, in case you may nneed this. The easiest way to get there is via taxi. Immediately after the customs and immigration area, as you head to the exits, you will find an official taxi stand. You can pay for the car at set (approximately $30USD) rates and won’t need to worry about sorting out a ride outside the airport facilities, where the situation tends to get more chaotic, with many drivers vying for few clients. There are exchange facilities in the Arrivals area open 24 hours.
If you have paid in advance for an arrival transfer, a Teqse Travel representative will be at the airport to meet you. If for any reason you are not met at the airport, please call our local support whatsapp line. If you are unable to make contact for whatever reason, please make your way to the joining point hotel via taxi.
Please note that Day 1 is an arrival day and no activities have been planned for that day other then your welcome meeting in the evening, so you can arrive at any time.
A Teqse Travel Representative will organize a short meeting soon after arrival, during which you will meet other tour participants and receive information about general and specific aspects of the trip. A welcome note will be left for you in the hotel so you have all the necessary information regarding the meeting time. If you arrive late, s/he will leave you a message detailing what time and where you should meet the next morning.
We don’t expect any problems, and nor should you, but if for any reason you are unable to commence your trip as scheduled, as soon as possible please contact your starting point hotel, the whatsapp line 24/7 available requesting that you speak to or leave a message for your Tour Leader or Tour Guide (if you can not, please refer to the emergency contact on your detailed itinerary). If you have pre-booked an airport transfer and have not made contact with our representative within 30 minutes of clearing customs and immigration, we recommend that you make your own way to the Starting Point hotel, following the Joining Instructions. Please apply to your travel agent on your return for a refund of the transfer cost if this occurs.
Should you need to contact us during a situation of dire need, it is best to first call either the Teqse Trvel Local Representative (if one is listed below) or our Teqse Travel Local Office via whatsapp that is 24/7 available. If for any reason you do not receive an immediate answer, please leave a detailed message and contact information, so they may return your call and assist you as soon as possible.
AIRPORT TRANSFER
If you have purchased an arrival through Teqse Travel or if an arrival transfer is included in the cost of your tour, please note that:
Your arrival transfer has been arranged based on flight information provided to us. If you are advised of a flight schedule change within 48 hours of your scheduled arrival time, we will do our best to rearrange your arrival transfer however we cannot guarantee this. If your arrival transfer does not arrive within 30 minutes after you have exited the arrivals area please take a taxi to your start point hotel.
Most people automatically assume that the weather is hot in South America, spoecually in Perú, but because of the higher altitude in the Andes, the temperature can feel quite cold, especially at night.
We recommend using a backpack for your convenience, or a medium-sized suitcase if you prefer. A daypack is also essential for carrying everyday items. Space is limited on transportation, so there is a limit of one main piece of luggage per person. You will be responsible for carrying your own luggage.
All countries require a valid passport (with a minimum 6 months validity). Contact your local embassy, or consulate for the most up-to-date visa requirements, or see your travel agent. IT’S YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO HAVE THE CORRECT TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION.
Every traveller is different and therefore spending money requirements will vary. Some travellers may drink more than others while other travellers like to purchase more souvenirs than most. Please consider your own spending habits when it comes to allowing for drinks, shopping and tipping. Please also remember the following specific recommendations when planning your trip.
The currency in Peru is the Nuevo Sol (PEN).
Credit cards and debit cards are very useful for cash advances. Visa cards are the most widely accepted cards. While ATMs are widely available, there are no guarantees that your credit or debit cards will actually work in Latin America. Check with your bank before travel, to let them know that you will use your credit card in Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador or the countries listed on your itinerary. This can take some days so thats why is important to inform to your bank before your arrival to the country.
You should be aware that to purchase products or services on a credit card a fee of 5%-10% usually applies.
Do not rely on credit or debit cards as your only source of money, a combination of US dollar cash and cards is best. Always take more rather than less, as you don’t want to spoil the trip by constantly feeling short of money.
We do not recommend bringing travellers cheques as they are very difficult to change in country.
CURRENCY EXCHANGE TIP: Please be advised that slightly torn notes, notes that have been heavily marked or are faded may be difficult to exchange. It is best to bring notes in fairly good condition, in denominations lower than 100USD (or equivalent).
As currency exchange rates can fluctuate often we ask that you refer to the following website for daily exchange rates: www.xe.com
Please also make sure you have access to at least an additional USD $200 (or equivalent) as an ’emergency’ fund, to be used when circumstances outside our control (ex. a natural disaster) require a change to our planned route. This is a rare occurrence!
It is customary in Latin America specially in Perú to tip service providers such as waiters, at approximately 10%, depending on the service. Tipping is an expected – though not mandatory – component of your tour program and an expression of satisfaction with the persons who have assisted you on your tour. Although it may not be customary to you, it is of considerable significance to the people who will take care of you during your travels. There are several times during the trip where there is opportunity to tip the local guides or drivers we use. Recommendations for tipping drivers and local guides would range from $5-10 USD per day depending on the quality and length of the service; ask your Tour Leader or Tour Guide for specific recommendations based on the circumstances and culture.

Huayna Picchu: Although this hike may be promoted by others, we cannot verify that this hike meets Teqse Travel minimum safety standards. We do not include the Huayna Picchu hike in any of our itineraries, but if you want to do this hike, you may sign a security release.
For a list of extra activities you can ask for your guide all the information on the city you are or will be, so you can request for a space on this.
Please note inoculations may be required for the country visited. It is your responsibility to consult with your travel doctor for up to date medical travel information well before departure.
You should consult your doctor for up-to-date medical travel information well before departure. We recommend that you carry a First Aid kit and hand sanitizers / antibacterial wipes as well as any personal medical requirements. Please be aware that quite often we are in remote areas and away from medical facilities, and for legal reasons our leaders are prohibited from administering any type of drug including headache tablets, antibiotics, etc. When selecting your trip please carefully read about the country. Please refer to the Physical ratings for trip specific information. Teqse Travel reserves the right to exclude any traveller from all or part of a trip without refund if in the reasonable opinion of our Tour Leqader or Tour Guide they are unable to complete the itinerary without undue risk to themselves and/or the rest of the group.
Please note your Adventure travels to high altitude. This is medically defined as anything over 8,000 feet (2,440 meters). Most people can travel to 8,000 feet with minimal effects. However, everyone reacts to altitude differently and altitude sickness can on set with some people irrespective of fitness and age. For details on how to best prepare and what to do in the unlikely event you are effected on your Adventure, please consult your physician.
BOOKING AND PAYMENT
By booking any services / products from TEQSE TRAVEL you agree to comply with all of our terms and conditions. These conditions of contract constitute the entire agreement and understanding between you and TEQSE TRAVEL in relation to their subject matter. By proceeding with a booking, you acknowledge that you have read and understood all of the conditions of contract and agree to be bound by them.
Once you have accepted the itinerary and quote sent by your Teqse Travel designer, a deposit is required to confirm the services. The deposit amount will be specified by you travel designer when your booking is made. Full payment for a particular service such as your flights may also be required at the time of booking. Dates and deadlines for balance payment are subject to each particular program and will be detailed in your invoice. If you don`t receive this information, please assume that the full balance is to be paid 60 days prior to the beginning of your trip. If the full amount is not paid on time, TEQSE TRAVEL reserves the right to treat the booking as cancelled and the deposit shall be forfeited.
International and / or national airfares, shown in any of our programs, are to be taken just as a reference, since they may vary constantly according to availability. We will proceed purchasing the requested flight-tickets only once we have received your deposit. May the rates have changed at that point; we will inform you and will wait for your final confirmation before purchasing the tickets.
If the booking is done within 60 days of tour departure, your space will be secured once we get the full amount of the trip price, your travel designer will give you the dates for the payments to avoid any kind of cancellations.
If you must cancel your reservation, cancellation charges may apply, depending on how long in advance you cancel your journey. The Cancellation charges shown below are those which will apply to most tours. However, some suppliers have conditions which require the payment of higher or different non-refundable charges. You will be advised at the time of booking if this is the case for your tour.
Teqse Travel Company reserves the right to alter the published price of any tour due to increasing tariffs, transportation charges (fuel, airport charges, scheduled air fares and other transport charges which form part of our contract with the transport provider), currency fluctuations and government action. Any surcharge or price decrease will be fully explained and justified by your Teqse travel designer before implementation at least 60 days before departure. Any surcharge will not exceed 10% of the specified program price.
The program price is based on U.S. dollars and exchange rates in effect at the moment of your booking confirmation. The program price per person in US$ is based on the number of participants agreed at the moment of the booking confirmation and is therefore only valid for this number of guests. Should the number of guests decrease, the total program price per person would normally increase, and equally, an increase in the number of guests should normally lead to a decrease in the program price per person.
A booking is accepted and becomes definite only from the date when the Company sends a confirmation invoice to the client who makes the booking or their authorized travel agent. It is at this moment that a contract between the Company and the client comes into existence.
CANCELLATIONS
If you must cancel your reservation, cancellation charges may apply, depending on how long in advance you cancel your journey. The Cancellation charges shown below are those which will apply to most tours. However, some suppliers have conditions which require the payment of higher or different non-refundable charges. You will be advised at the time of booking if this is the case for your tour.

The amount paid for flight-tickets may not be subject to any refund, unless the airline itself agrees to the refund.
Cancellations received Fridays for tour departures that weekend (Saturday, Sunday or Monday) will be treated as day of departure cancellation. We cannot give any allowance or refund for meals, rooms, excursions, etc. not taken, when these are included in the price of the tour. No refund can be made on lost, mislaid or destroyed travel tickets. There will be no refunds made for cancelled or unused services whatsoever.
Any person joining a tour after the departure date, not joining the tour at all without previous notice, or leaving before the completion of the tour for any reason, is not entitled to any refunds from Teqse Travel, or entitled to claim any costs for any added expenses.
RISK AND HEALTH
Please note that our trips entail risks beyond those encountered at home.
Our primary objective is to take the hassle out of a great travel experience. In return, we count on people to ensure they are healthy; to appreciate that in some countries, local living standards, practices, services and accommodations may differ from those in their home lands; and to understand the fact that a road less travelled means a more unpredictable and more rewarding adventure. Neither TEQSE TRAVEL nor any of its agents shall be held liable in any way for any injury, loss of life or damage to property, occurred during the trip. The client hereby indemnifies and holds TEQSE TRAVEL, its agents and staff harmless from any such claim, and accepts, at the same time, full responsibility for all risks involved.
AUTHORITY OF THE TOUR
The decisions of the TEQSE TRAVEL guide on tour shall at all times be final and binding. The client must at all times respect the laws of the visited country, and the internal regulations of the tour. Shall the client be in any contravention of the above, the guide may order him/her to leave the tour without any claim to a refund. The client shall be obliged to make his/her way home at his/her own expense.
TRAVEL DOCUMENTS
It is the client’s sole responsibility to ensure that passports, visas and any other required documentation are all in order for the trip. TEQSE TRAVEL cannot be held liable for any consequences, damages or claims if the client, prior to the starting date of the tour, does not attend correctly to his documentation and related matters.
CANCELATIONS OR CHANGES BY US AND FLEXIBILITY
We reserve the right to cancel, alter or modify any tour without prior notice for any reason, including but not limited to for the safety and/or comfort of clients and for circumstances of Force Majeure, which is defined in this agreement below. This includes the right to replace or substitute accommodations in the itinerary, modify the order in which places are to visited, and make other changes in the itinerary. You acknowledge that the amenities, accommodations, transportation, route, schedule, and itinerary may change without prior notice due to local circumstances or events, which may include mechanical breakdown, flight cancellations, illness, strikes, political disputes, weather, border crossing problems, and other unforeseeable factors.
Any changes may require a supplemental payment from you or result in a partial or full refund. This refund will constitute full settlement of claims you may have arising out of our cancellation. Unless doing so would create an unstable financial situation for us, we will refund any deposits already paid in the event of a cancellation due to Force Majeure less any non-refundable deposits paid to our third party suppliers.
FORCE MAJEURE
TEQSE TRAVEL will not be deemed in breach of this agreement or otherwise liable to you, by reason of delay in performance or nonperformance of any of its obligations under this agreement to the extent that any such delay or nonperformance is due to any Force Majeure. “Force Majeure” means any circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including without limitation pandemics, acts of nature, terrorist activities, insurrection, explosion, flood, tempest, forceful wind, fire or accident, war or threat of war declared or undeclared, sabotage, civil disturbance, labor strikes, requisition, sickness, quarantine, government intervention, weather conditions, and unforeseen circumstances. If we and any of our Suppliers are affected by Force Majeure, we and our Suppliers shall be entitled to, and may in our sole discretion, vary or cancel any itinerary or arrangement in relation to the tour. Regarding civil unrest, once we have investigated the prevailing situation, as we deem fit, it shall remain in our sole and absolute discretion whether to proceed with the tour.
TRIP CANCELLATIONS INSURANCE
In TEQSE TRAVEL, We highly recommend that you purchase comprehensive Trip Cancellation and Interruption Insurance from a company of your choosing. Comprehensive travel insurance should cover trip interruption and cancellation, baggage, medical, accident/life, evacuation, repatriation and other expenses that might arise as a result of loss, damage, injury, delay or inconvenience occurring to you. The purchase of this insurance is not required in order to purchase a trip from us.
In Teqse Travel we care a lot about the protection of information and especially the personal data of credit cards and bank information of our travelers, that’s why we look for the best ways of payment to avoid distrust and provide better comfort to each client.
Private credit card information and security codes are very sensitive issues in this day and age, so our payment options accommodate the preferences of our travelers.

Encrypted payment link (credit card):
By means of a link created for each client and for each payment, if the traveler wishes to make the payment of the trip in 1 or 2 parts, for each payment an encrypted link will be created, in these links the same clients are the ones who fill the data that are required and the payment is made without any problem, to make these payments you should talk to your bank before making the payment and activate buying online in Latin America and if necessary in Peru, specifically.
Please notice that the payments by credit card you need to consider the extra 5% of the amount you need to pay.
Deposit to bank account:
If travelers do not wish to use their credit cards, we have accounts in major and important banks in Peru, where you can make the bank deposit, this will have a delay of perhaps up to 4 working days.
Our Teqse Travel designers will provide you with the payment options and the appropriate information when the traveler wishes to confirm and pay for the trip.
Everything will be done by email, and either by credit card or bank deposit, we will inform our customers the arrival of the deposit.
